////Hi Ron, I'm using it with a 3 axis CNC Mach2 controlled Bridgeport. I use it everyday. I hear alot of people complain about it. I dont know what is better for the same money. I read good and bad about all of them. Every software that I reviewed when making my selection did not seem as good. It was about the best of the bunch save the few very expensive ones that I looked at. They were nice, I just couldnt justify the investment. Just a few weeks ago a customer stopped by and I typed his name into the CAD portion, vectorized the text, then ran it through the post processor and was machining his name in less than a minute. It's very impressive. I think the alledged bad reputation is from competitors and their overzealous sales techniques. And the fact that is not a forgiving software, if procedures are not followed properly the user will have problems. I did quite of bit of searching for info and on one webgroup a community college instructor posted at how horrible Bobcad was and
then one week later he retracted it apologetically. Then claimed it was a wonderful software after becoming oriented with it. The key to it is training and really not much training. The training CD's cover all aspects. I've been using Acad R14 for the last 7 or 8 years off and on and I've never even got marginally proficient with it. simple fact, I never recieved any training on it. If Bobcad V18 was unsatisfactory, I'd be the first to tell ya :-).
