Because, it really does multiply. The multiplier in Gecko
products is a voltage controlled oscillator that creates
multiple output pulses for a single input pulse. They
can be set for 2X, 5X, or 10X multiply. The 340 does not
divide the encoder input. This keeps the gain and
resolution high while reducing the required input
pulse frequency.
