It is a multiplier. The computer outputs 1 step and the multiplier
outputs to the servo board 10 steps (if it is set at 10). Each step is
equal to one encoder position. So in this example the motor would move
10 encoder positions for each 1 step generated by the computer. I do
not use the geckos, but the rutex board this step multiplier can be
selected as 1X, 4X, 10X and 20X
