Hi John,
Look into TurboCNC, a DOS program that'll run on your PC, and execute
Gcode part programs.
Look for the "CNC for Hobbyists" white paper in the files (here or on
the SherlineCNC list).
Gcode part programs are simple text files with "instructions" to command
the axis move, like this:
N01000 (steam chest small boss, rotary table)
N01010 ( 1/4" endmill)
N01020 ( side forward = A0.0)
N01030 ( 08/31/04 alm)
N01040 G90 G20 G17 F4
N01120 G1 X -0.5000
N01130 G1 A 0
N01140 G1 Z start
N01160 G1 A 360
N01180 G1 X -0.375
N01200 G1 A 0
N01220 G1 X -0.3125
N01240 G1 A 360
N01260 G1 X -0.2500
N01265 G1 A0
This (partial) file would be read by TurboCNC, and the axis moved to the
A,X,Y and Z coordinates defined.
