The problem with the off the shelf packages most people use for more
common CNC is that they do not do the retract function.
If you are just wanting to punch holes, then the simple non-software
system will be fine.
If you just want to punch holes and between holes, move the table to
select the next hole, then any software is fine.
If you want to drag cut and correct for electrode loss, then you need
to look at a more dedicated EDM software.
When I made my EDM, I made the machine, then looked at the best way
to control it. I didn't see how software was going to do anything
for me. My needs were just tap removal and hole punching.
