Well - no. :)

He's referring to the fact that a slash is the symbol for division, and
there is no division in a "pound foot" or an "ounce inch". It's
actually the opposite - multiplication. The common notation is to use a
dash (which is also a minus sign, but we have to ignore that). So, the
accepted units for torque are inch-pounds (or in-lb), foot-pounds
(ft-lb), ounce-inches (oz-in), etc.

There was a (fairly long) thread on this subject a month or so ago.
