Did you have the 470 uf cap on the power and ground leads of you G201?
A few years ago I had a 201 setting on a heatsink and was doing some testing
after repairs for a customer. It wasn't my standard set up. The power leads
were about 14" long. I had the case off the G201 and while running a motor
found the internal 100 UF cap was getting really hot. So I installed a 470
cap across the power terminals like Mariss says to do in the G201 manual and
it cooled right down. That external cap is really important.
