Seems like it might be possible even to use a sprocket and chain in
place of the cable and use an angular actuator but there has to be
some way to indicate that the shifting has happened properly or the
thing will take off in neurtal and cause a mess. Right now I don't
think I have any digital outputs free for all these requirements.
