This is the answer. However, if you can disable the origional in the
BIOS and on the MB, you just may get luck and get the add-in card to
become the first card.

Since many programs can address two cards, it would be a benifit to
make sure you have that option.

IIRC, a PC can handle 3 parallel ports, so maybe it is not a loss if
you cannot disable the one that is bad.
