Yes most people can't make holes in material
as close as .002...you need a mill and lathe.

I'd like this thing to be a sort of starter machine,easily
"improved", but be a workhorse at the same time.

I started this for making jewelry parts,which I then make
diesets from.I wrote a program that converts bmps directly
to gcode. The stepover is user defined. I use .003.

Of course this takes a while to do a 1x1 bmp(30 min), but a regular
dxf takes only minutes.

looking under magnification...I have to say I myself was amazed.
You can see the .003 stepover.

I wouldn't trust the dremel for that without using a flexible
shaft...I have an older one with little if any runout.
