NO , NO !
Never pound anything , It is harder to get location with the threaded
inserts but they should still be installed with epoxy and not force .
Yes , you can also drill a through hole and then counter bore around the
hole on the bottom side by simply using the next larger size diamond
core drill ( always use water even if the drill says it can be used dry
), then you can just use a bolt .

Wish I knew I have spent 20 years learning ceramic machining which is
like granite only much harder .
