Good to know Bob, I've seen the ones at Automation Direct, but
figured if I could get these for $10 then it'd be a good move.
When they talk about sensing range they are talking about the
distance from the face of the unit to the sensing flag or are they
talking about the range in which the sensor goes off as the flag
pass in front of it. ie; a 30mm range on my x axis would stop the
gantry some place in that 30mm but not any more accuratly than that,
or does the sensor just have to be w/in the 30mm to see the flag??
If a 2mm is better, would a 1mm barrel type be even better?? How
accurate should a person expect one of these type sensor's to be?
Can I consistantly stop my gantry w/in 0.010"???
I was originally thinking some type of mechanical switch, but
figured this type of switch might be better since there is no
mechanical interaction and nothing should wear out.
Thanks
Jarrett
