Hi Darin,
Not quite ready to ship yet. But in a way that's a good thing. Now I have
yet another project to ponder on.
We initially discussed the idea of tab stops with each press of the go
button so turning or threading would go to the next tab stop. One could
program in the stops for a spindle and then turn each of the shoulders and
thread the appropriate bits without resetting things each time. Useful
perhaps for making multiples like axles for trains or robots etc. That's
when the ELS is used for a lathe.
There is a limit switch input. And of course there's the input for the
spindle RPM. So I guess we could configure the limits to protect the
leadscrew motion the way it's intended. But the spindle input is normally a
slotted optical sensor. A long blade that follows the bender could prevent
motion of the backstop while the opto is covered. Each time the cycle
occurs the ELS could step through the tab stop list and move the motor to
the next position.
I'll give it some thought.
