Here's a slick solution to replace a floppy drive using CF cards.
Replaces a 3.5" floppy drive, allowing
direct access to the CF card. Only big drawback is one cannot pull a CF
card while hot.
I'm running my Omniturn with a 20mb Kodak CF card as HDD. I'm going to
add one of these
floppy CF adapters, so all I'll have to do to back up all my programs,
is shut down, pull the card,
insert into my CF reader on the desktop, and copy everything over.

Have tried several times to get a USB thumb drive working. I've heard
from those that have done
so, but haven't been able to make it work for me. That would be hot
swappable...

This style adapter runs as high as nearly $30, this one is the least
expensive one I've found so far...
