For home use ... don't know about the low-end packages.
For the high-end packages ....
Unigraphics NX ($18,000 base package)
This product will do anything, Design, Drafting, Manufacturing, FEA, Rendering,
and anything ... but it better at $18,000.00/seat!
Learning curve to be efficient with training and other users to work with 6
months to a year for the design and drafting side manufacturing well,
add on another 6months to a year.
Ideas NX . same pretty much not too sure about the manufacturing to date.
Pro-E . $11,000/seat maybe less depending on how well it is selling to date
not too sure about the manufacturing to date, 6 year ago it was worthless.
Catia . I am sure it is more then Unigraphics but from what I have heard a
sweet package.
Main advantage of High-End all parametric with complete associatively to all
facets of the design process.
Draw-Backs .. very long learning curve . and impossibly expensive for the home
user or small company.
But you asked....
