Although I agree with Paul, I can see the desire to have some sort of
feedback.
One might be to put a meter that shows torque of the spindle. it
would show one of the first stages of excess power needed from dull
tools or tools that are not set at the proper height.
The force feedback would, in my mind be valuable for light materials
so you don't go plowing into things that might not like high pressures.
and hard materials, where a dull tool will drastically increase forces
needed to cut.
But, since so much cutting is done with feeds on the lathe, I think it
might not be as valuable as one might think.
