Common....i don't know.....by logical thoughts metall is ground. but there have been car manufacturers connecting positive at the chassis before also. Never know what this people think when they design it.

Since some brands are packing insulation kits in i guess it is common that some manufactureres switching the electrical flow.-))))
Dont forget plus is minus and red is black.!!
How ever common or not if it will do the trick then its ok.
The insulation material is awalable only for a few cents or simply turn it on the lathe......since you are working on it anyway.
