I have used bronze bushings for this many times. see Mcmaster Carr page 1104

item 6391k4 (3" long ) or 6391k414 (1" long ) I would probably use the long one but the short one is cheaper-- bore out part to 5/8" adjust the length to fit and drill and tap for set screws. I have a bunch in several sizes these in useful someday stock _ Other wise just make one which can be quicker than looking.
