RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Plotter ink

The answer could be yes, no or maybe depending on the printer models. A
large company that makes consumer desktop inkjet printers as well as large
format designjet type printers will probably have many hundred different ink
types with different properties. A major difference in inks would be dye
based or pigmented. Pigmented inks may provide better waterfastnesses and
lightfastness but are typically more expensive and found in the higher end
products (sometimes as an option). Typically the servicing algorithms would
be very different for these inks as the pigmented inks are more prone to
clogging. There will also be differences in viscosity, PH, surface tension
and a host of other parameters between different inks. The inks for fixed
printheads (or printheads separate from the ink supplies, typically
connected by tubes) will be different than the ink found in integrated ink
and printhead cartridges.

Bottom line - there are no universal inks, despite what some suppliers may
say..

Can someone tell me does an inkjet plotter use the same type of ink
as an inkjet printer....

I would think so,,,but some manufactures think other wise.
