Hi Alexander!
Ask your concrete people. Seriously. You can go with some aftermarket
product but spending a little more to have them finish the job to your
specifications might be a lot cheaper than trying something and having it
not work out a year or two down the road. They might not quote the price you
are looking for but it doesn't hurt to ask.
As for wind power, no.
If you have access to the grid, your total overall cost per KW/Hour will be
a lot more than anything that your electrical company charges you when
amortized over the life of the equipment and maintenance costs.
There is a reason why alt.energy only amounts for less than 2% of the US's
commercial power options and that amount is only there because of public
relations (read: oooohhh Green!!!) and government subsidies (read: our tax
dollars)
Also, wind turbines subjected to sudden changes in load will fail
catastrophically.
"wind turbine fail" gets over a million hits on Google.
