I know that the ATS667 sensor works beautifully in my Bridgeport at 2800
RPM, with
an 81-tooth gear, so that is 3780 Hz. I think there is still a huge
amount of headroom
above that. I use a pair of them on the gear teeth to make a quadrature
signal, and then
one more sensing a dimple drilled in the gear for an index pulse. This
allows me to
do rigid tapping on a 1J Bridgeport head, which doesn't make attaching a
conventional
encoder easy.
