Incan lamps can sometimes be damaged by vibration. You're replacing
it with a lamp the designers didn't use... so all bets are off on that
front.

I had a neat stereo back into the 80's which had a black-smoked acrylic
face with a little flowchart of features which got lit up by GOW lamps
so it looked all like a Star Trek TNG computer. But, when I got it, a
lot of the GOW were already blown. No telling if it had been left on
24/7 but it was probably 5 years old by then.
