In a vibrating environment, that 40,000 hours could easily become less than 500 hours. Could even become 1 hour in a worst case scenario...

LEDs (and dropper resistors) are so cheap and are VERY insensitive to quite severe vibration.

The tiny amount of extra work will be really well paid back, costs are almost nothing......

But each must decide for himself what he does in such situations.......all we are doing here is showing everyone the various possibilities....

.....but don't forget, lamps are slowly disappearing off this planet, in 10 years you might have real trouble finding one.....or even earlier!
