True, swapping the headstock in and out gets to be a pain. Especially when
it's well cabled in.

Ideally, one could re-use the stepper driver electronics, and the controller
PC. However the Arduino isn't much of a cost, I suppose. And the PCB that
mounts on it basically just holds the Pololu stepper drivers. Replace the
drivers with line driver ICs, and drive your stepper driver box instead.
NEMA #17s are probably OK, but surplus #23s wouldn't cost much. It could
share my existing Sherline lathe control PC and driver box!

An 80/20 Aluminum Prusa with a little brass thrown in for Steam Punk! I
like it!
