It puts special conditions on dealers like yourself (and me) to not push your agenda regardless of how well meaning it my seem. Other vendors in the past have ended up on moderation (and couple banned) for trying to promote their products. The forum was built (by Bill) to be a strict DIY CNC group where discussion of any off topic subject were not permitted. On the past couple of years Bill has stepped away from the helm and the rules have been relaxed to allow some off topic posts about tooling and processes but the rule on advertising by talking about a product then linking them to your website to buy is still frowned upon.

When I took over co-ownership of the list several years ago I did it with the understanding I would adhere to the rules of the Founding Father and that i could separate my own agenda from my duties as list step-Mom and moderator. I am in a unique position to exploit this list for my own profit but I was chosen first a moderator, and then as an owner, because Bill knew I would not do that and my interest has and remains to help the DIY builder in a neutral way and give back to the community.

I do most of my work in the background catching spammers and banning persons trying to market all sorts of stuff to this group. I have some welcome help from other moderators (THANKS GUYS!) I seldom post unless I see something in a area where I have a lot of expertise and see a need to lower the confusion level.
