HI Jan:
How have you been?
You need to access the PC's setup while it is booting. Usually there will be an onscreen messahge that tells you wat to do to access the Setup menu.
Typically, it will be DELET, ESC, F1, F2, F8 or something like that.
Once in the setup menu, browse around until; you find the "legacy port" or parallel; port settings and make the changes needed.
Usually F10 or some other key will save the settings.
Good luck with it!

All this chat about LPT hopefully leads me to believe SOMEone "out there"
can give me a tip:
I have a HP computer that "came with" Windows-XP, but, unlike earlier ones
that had Windows 98 and EARLIER, it will NOT drive my home-brew CNC gear
via the "Data Port (8 bits)" on the PUP, as did ALL the earlier PC's.
SOMEone "in here" suggested I "Set the LPT mode to SPP, then F10 to save." OK,
but HOW do I find "LPT Mode" on the "Control Panel" or what? I have tried
EVERYthing!
Thanks! Jan Rowland
