The file linux.bat needs to be edited to point to the partition where the
kernel is located. For e: you'd want to substitute hda3 for hda1 in that
batch file (list the file and you'll see where it goes).

The file, vmlinuz, should be in the linux directory with the linux.bat file.
My guess is that something went wrong with the unzipping part. You really
need pkzip25.exe which is contained in:

ftp://ftp.pkware.com/pk250c32.exe

I think this is one thing that needs changing regarding this disk. We need to
change to something like gzip which is GPL and could be included on the CD.

The problem is the slackware.zip doesn't contain X windows. You were right to
start with Zipemc.zip.

When I got this CD, I couldn't get any of my unzipping programs to work. Once
I got pkzip25.exe, I unzipped the linux directory, restarted in DOS mode,
CD'ed to c:\linux and ran linux.bat and it worked. If it's any consolation, I
spent about 3 hours fooling around with various versions of pkzip and winzip
before I got the right one.
