You got me thinking, so I hooked up a 'cheapie' caliper to my scope
and found that the pins 1..4 agree with mitutoyo except my pin4 is
Vbat=1.5v. I was hoping for a standard slow baud rate about 110baud.
Whatever 1.5v micro is in there, its probably running off an RC
clock, but at slow bauds, rate error can be an acceptable percentage
of the overall transmitted packet.

Since its async format, but with an optional clock, translation may
not be needed, only voltage level translation which can be stolen
from the other serial port pins. I'll put it on the storage
scopes at work and figure it out. Probably sometime next week.

I bought this one as a quill DRO 6". Just have to keep it out
of the coolant...
