Well my 1st attempt has deepened the puzzle. I was wrong about the
async format. I found 2 bursts of data syncronous with the clock
at 2 sections of 24 bits clocked out at a rate of 13uS per bit.
These 48bit packets are transmitted at 6.3hz or 158.7 mS apart.

Next I'll rigg up a Pic to sample the data and transmit an ascii 0 or
1 via async format depending on the bits it samples and log the data
using hyperterm. It didnt appear that all the data is contained in
the 48bit bursts, so it may be a series of data as the article
describes. The data rate is much higher then the articles
description. I'm suspecting that different manufactures may
use different proprietary formats.

I'll share my findings, as soon as I find some time to rig
the setup.
