Jon,

On your application, I'd think the ideal would be cross roller linear
rails like SKF or IKO make. They should be large, at least the 25 if not 30
mm size. I would use bearing blocks with 6 bolts each too. In the 30 mm size,
the rail bolts get pretty hefty. I gotta agree the fully supported round
stuff is pretty good but it is no where as rigid as a THK HSR style rail. If
due to availability you are forced to use smaller rails, you can always
increase the number of rails and blocks you use to increase load capacity /
rigidity.
