When someone specifies 'spindle motor', they usually mean a motor
design which incorporates a spindle. Typical Mfr's are Perske,
Colombo, Elte. High grade bearings and precision balancing and
assembly make these units pricey, and quiet in operation.

A lower grade motor which may be called a 'spindle motor' is also
called an 'arbor motor'. Not as high end, generally, and is really
just a motor with bearings which inhibit end play, with a shaft
modified from the plain end of common motors. (arbor motors usually
have flanges and threads to mount a grinding wheel or sawblade)
