Ian,

All of that I have been told says that the append="mem=xxm" is required to
set aside memory for the RT functions. If you have the wrong value for this
I am sure you will get problems and in the run script and your .ini file for
EMC you have to specify where this set aside memory region resides. If all
are not in agreement problems happen.

I think this is a case of it looking like it is working, but you really have
a problem that you haven't discovered yet. All other installs from the
script have the append= line and the instructions that came from Fred
Proctor via Matt call out for this line.

What run file are you using? The simulation run files don't require the RT
call as I understand it and will run on a standard kernel.
