Gentlemen,

Newark Electronics supplies the HEDS-5500 series encoders for about 42.00
each. They interface perfectly with the HCTL 2020 16 bit quadrature decoder
counter chips from the same source. These are a wonderful combination. All
that is needed to get the counters working is a ceramic resonator. I use
them in a control I build and install on machines I retrofit. I use a PC to
retrieve the three axis counts and display them in large letters on a PC.
