Ah yes I'm very familiar with LN2 from my carbon
dating days.
Used lots of it transfering CO2 and methane back
and forth. In the old days they converted the CO2
to methane and then counted in a gas proportional
counter. Lots of fun. <grimace>
The conversion process was the best demostration
of kinetics I've ever seen.
Freeze CO2 into reaction bomb, let thaw. Add
stoichometric amount of H2 + a slight excess.
Pressure in the bomb is now about 500 psi. Warm
contents slightly and the reaction drives itself.
The pressure gauge would drop from 500 to about
110 in af few seconds. <fun>


I suspect that the cleaning cycle is infrequent
and they buy too much and what is given away is
what is left over. Indeed any that touches the
mold is gone.
