I used hydrofloric to speed up nitric when I worked for a diamond tool firm,
Chipped or worn turning tools had to be removed from a small sintered piece
of metal which had first been un-silver soldered from the tool shank so they
could be re-polished.
Anyway If you get hold of this stuff you should have an alkaline solution
nearby just in case. I was told it continues to burn even if you wash it .
The fumes are realy choking
