The unit I was talking about doesn't use any valves at all!
It works purely on mechanical contact with a pattern. Consequently it is
VERY accurate!
Doesn't have any of the problems you've mentioned associated with the
hydraulic machine.
Any "standard" shop lathe can be made into a copy lathe as well using the
same technique.
Maybe you should consider tossing out all the hydraulicas and converting it
to mechanical copying?
