Hi,
Putting the balls back in the ballnut is not hard, but can be
tedious. It's one of those things ya don' wanna hafta do, but when
you're faced with actually doing it, it gets done...
There have been a few suggestions about how to proceed in the
archives of this list. If you make "centering" end plates for the
ballnut which fit over the major diameter of the screw (these can be
made with a spade bit(s) in plastic on the drill press), re-loading
can be a "pour 'em in" thing. See #4 below.
I think the most important four items are:
1) Be confident. This is not that hard!
2) Work in a clean, "able to deal with dropped balls" area. Work NEAR
the floor.
3) Be sure you have ALL the parts. And the tools (screwdriver) is
nearby.
4) Some ballnuts use 2 different size balls, alternately. Check to
see if this is the case for you.
Hope this helps.

P.S. I remember fearing this. I finally "had to" deal with it :-(,
and now I *almost* wish I'd just taken one apart to get over it
sooner!
