Doug,

If you swap the motor and it still looks like the drive is bad you
may wish to take a soldering iron and reheat the connections
on the board. Especially the pot that is acting up and any of the
larger connections that are soldered to the board. Sometimes
the flexing caused by heavier items connected to the board can
cause cracks in the solder joints which can cause intermittant
problems. I have never fixed a servo amp this way, but it has
worked on other things.
