When they can show pics of the shop/personel, I would think it a little better
than, "mystical". What's that saying? A good craftsman never blames his tools.
Speed of operation does not mean the end product is better or more accurate, et
al. Nor does it mean that the products of a complex, modern shop are
necessarily superior to those of a primitive one. Care and craftsmanship when
dealling with a multitude of finicky details is not something a lot of people
want to have to deal with.

As an example, the master metalsmiths of the world for almost a thousand years,
(the Vikings), made the most durable and beautiful pattern welded Damascus steel
sword blades in the world. There are a bunch of people today, who don't want
to go to all the time/trouble of making one in a modern shop. How many fewer do
you suppose there are who'd like to do it as the Vikings did, with a hole in the
ground for their forge, and an appropriate sized/shapped rock for their anvil,
and another rock to pound with?

FWIW, I understand that the straightest, most accurate barrels _in_mass_
_production_, are being done in Canada for our M-16's. A negatively rifled rod,
(mandrel?), has a pair of tubes slide over it, one for the rifling, one for the
barrel proper. The whole shebang is then inserted into a rotary hammer, and
cold forged into a rifle barrel.
