When I first got into machining, I was amazed at what my boss could
do. Somewhere along the line, I picked up the phrase that loosly
goes that a poor machinest can do a fair job with great tools but a
great machinest can do a great job with poor tools.
making a sword with stones and fire pits seems to fit the latter.
I have fit the erlier, but now am somewhere in between.
