FWIW, on my little machine I'm using DIN plugs which I salvaged off scrap
plotters - they are like an industrial version of an audio DIN plug but have
5 pins in a 270 degree arc and have a heavy metal body with a cam locking
skirt to keep the plug and socket firmly attached to each other.
