Jon,
Thanks for the offer but I don't think the pulleys are the problem and
would welcome your opinion about what I think is the problem..
The motor mount is so flimsy that I can actually push the top of the
motor and slacken or tighten the belt tension !
On close inspection I find the two aluminum mounting posts are screwed
on the end ot the motor assembly screws (this is a two point mount)
For a better view of the motor mount and and what I consider to be the
root of the problem look at this picture

I just got off the phone with MAXNC....
I am told that the motor was mounted this way to be flexible..... ! Is
that garbage or what... Should a spindle motor be mounted this way ?
