Thought I'd post this link just in case Mariss is too busy to respond
right away.

If I remember a past posting on this issue correctly...
The idle current reduction would help to keep your motors from
overheating. If the gecko drives are properly heatsinked then there
should be no reliabilty difference between the first production run
201 and the current 201a drives.

For me, I plan on doing occasional hobby use, so I purchased some of
the original 201s at a discount.
