One of the new features of the next release of
Dolphin ( Version 6.0.0.4L ) is the expansion of the
GOROUND command to include Threadmilling.
I expect to be posting this on our website ( www.dolphin.gb.com )
for download this weekend.
The complete CD image may be downloaded for Demo
purposes by new Users or for existing Users a much
smaller file may be downloaded to upgrade an already
installed system.
After installation refer to 'HELP\About\Whats New'
for intitial details of amendments.
If you contact me off list after download I will send
you an example part program if you wish.
It may be necessary to amend your post processor to
include 'Z' axis motion in the Circular Interpolation blocks
or if your machine cannot handle 'Z' movement in a G02/G03
then we can use the command 'HELIX VECTOR' which will output
the Thread as a series of XYZ vectors. The length of these
vectors is controlled by the 'ARC Tolerance' value which
is used to set the 'Chord Height' of a vectored arc.
The smaller the Arc Tolerance setting then the better surface
finish and longer part program and conversely the larger the
Arc Tolerance then the coarser the surface finish and shorter
part program.
Regards
Michael

Mr. Pearson,
I was wondering if you still might be interested in helping me
with my Dolphin and circular interpolation problem?
Thanks, Tony
