The Tom Senior mill has a disc around the horizontal spindle with mounting
holes in it. How about mounting a disc to this that has a heavy walled,
outside machined, pipe fixed to it. The pipe (A mean real heavy pipe, like
1-2cm or more walls), extends out to where the tool will be (Not too far out
so drooping shouldn't be major). The horizontal spindle is removed and
machined down to the same length as where it would need to be to put the
cutter in the right place; since it extends on further to be braced at the
end when it's used for horizontal milling. An angle milling attachment is
fixed to the heavy pipe and the spindle, and then also supported by the
support bar normally used to support the _end_ of the horizontal spindle.
Limited only by my own imagination I unlesh my skillZ with ascii art to give
you an idea: :)

Do you see where I'm coming from with this one? I'm not looking for the old
sub microns, I think if the pipe was heavily walled, supported even on the
support bar, and machined on the tools at school, it could be made to work.
Any thoughts? None that involve me and a sock though.
