You are incorrect about Paypal. Your money is gone as soon as you hit the
send button whether or not the seller sends the item. It is definitely NOT
an escrow service.

However, you can dispute your credit card bill if intentional fraud can be
proven on the sellers part.

I use Paypal for the majority of my internet sales (and purchases) and have
had ZERO problems.
