EMC for DOS?

Maybe I've missed something. EMC was developed in C. There are plenty of C
compilers for DOS. Why hasn't anyone built a DOS version for those of us
who really don't want to learn yet another operating system.
OK, I know Linux is supposed to be the the latest and greatest, but it took
many of us a good ten years to learn DOS.
