Hi Jon

Yes, the spindle will not be turned on untill a speed is commanded. If you
think about it, why turn it on if the speed is at zero (the default setting).

As far as sending an output via a DAC, the code has never been there as far
as I'm aware. Although it shouldn't be too difficult to add it once you have
decided on which DAC to use.
