Hoyt, List,
Do you have an "automatic" switchover between regular spindle motor
and the "C" axis stepper drive? A long time ago I saw this on a
commercially offered lathe, but didn't pay enough attention :-(
I've been trying to find a good way to implement this in a small 5c
spindle CNC gang tooled lathe I'm designing to be sold as plans/kit.
The alternative plan is a gecko servo driving a 1HP spindle; and Art
F's Mach1 has planned support for this to be used as a "c" axis. But
I'd like to offer both techniques... Any good links/ideas/systems out
there?
Thank you in advance,
Ballendo
