I had the ballscrews out of my ancient Bridgeport some time ago, and
was moving the table by hand. Once I got it sliding, it would have
gone right off the end of the machine if I hand't grabbed it! (It probably
would have bound up right at the end, and then I would have had
it really stuck.)
